I am a huge fan of well-created children's literature (and an elementary teacher too). As such, having an author of Jan Brett's caliber come to our little city was huge. For me, it was like meeting a movie star! :) She did a wonderful job of introducing herself, explaining her reasons for using animals in her stories, and encouraging kids to be artists themselves. Watching he draw Hoppi, her newest character and star of the new book The Easter Egg, was the highlight for me.
I guess I need to figure outsome scraping embellishments for these photos now!
